Envy is a Japanese post-hardcore band formed in 1995, initially emerging from the earlier band "BLIND JUSTICE." Known for their intense sound and emotional intensity, Envy releases their music through SONZAI RECORDS in Japan, Temporary Residence Limited in North America, and Mogwai's Rock Action Records in Europe. They previously released music through the domestic HC PUNK label HG FACT. Their sound, characterized by explosive dynamics and introspective atmospheres, has earned them significant recognition both domestically and internationally. Vocalist Tetsuya made notable guest appearances, including on Mogwai's Mr Beast album in the track "I Chose Horses". Envy has also graced stages at major festivals such as the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2006. The band has experienced significant lineup changes over the years. In 2016, a major shift occurred with the departure of vocalist Tetsuya Fukagawa, although he returned to the band in 2018 during the LAST WISH event. This period also saw the departure and later return of other core members, continuing Envy's legacy of influential music. Their album, Eunoia (2024) continues to showcase their evolution in the post-hardcore scene.
