Eric Benet

Born Eric Benét Jordan in Mobile, Alabama, on October 15, 1996, American R&B singer Eric Benét belongs to a musical family that includes his sister Lisa Benét and cousin George Nash Jr. After growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he began his musical career in the late 1980s with a group called Gerard, before teaming up with his sister and cousin to form the Benét trio, whose first album was a success in 1992. After this successful venture, Eric Benét went solo, signing with Warner Bros. to produce his debut album True to Myself (1996), followed by the gold disc A Day in the Life (1999), charting at No. 6 on the R&B charts and including the Grammy-nominated duet "Spend My Life with You" with Tamia. After collaborations with Somethin' for the People and Earth, Wind & Fire, the singer, married to actress Halle Berry, set to work on his third album Hurricane (2005), released on Friday Records like the follow-up Love & Life (2008). In 2010, his fifth album Lost in Time featured new duets with Faith Evans, Eddie Levert, Chrisette Michelle and Ledisi, while his successor The One (2012), No. 5 in the R&B charts, was released on his own Jordan House Records label and included contributions from Lil Wayne and Shaggy. Two years later, From E to U: Volume 1 features covers by Toto, Christopher Cross, Heart, The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, Culture Club and even hard rock band Extreme or Journey. In 2016 follows Eric Benét, with appearances by MC Lyte and trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. He returns in 2024 with the Duets EP, featuring Chanté Moore, Tamar Braxton, Ledisi, Latocha and Corinne Bailey Rae.
