Éric Legnini, born in Huy near Liège on February 20, 1970, has become one of the great pianists of his generation. Appearing in the 1990s in a variety of formats (solo, trio or quintet with Stefano Di Battista and Flavio Boltro), he has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, including Miss Soul (2006) and Trippin' (2009). In 2011, the funk jazz of The Vox was unanimously acclaimed, earning him a Victoire du jazz award. This was followed by the trio interlude Ballads, devoted to cover versions in 2012, and the following year by Sing Twice! sung in part by Hugh Coltman and Mamani Keita. In 2017, its successor Waxx Up welcomes Mathieu Boogaerts, Yael Naim, Michelle Willis, Charles X and trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf.
