Based in Mexico City, Fernando Esperón—known simply as Esperón—is an independent and self-produced singer-songwriter whose music delves into themes of self-destruction, emotional healing, and self-love. He introduced his project in 2018 with the debut single “Juventud,” followed by the EP Migajas de Palabras, a four-track collection pairing bedroom-pop melancholy with tropical beats and dreamy synths, accompanied by visuals for each song. In 2019, Esperón gained further attention with “Me Gustas Tanto,” a track exploring the fragility of entering relationships without a solid sense of self-worth. That same year, he expanded his sonic palette with the release of “Última Petición,” “Vamos a Ser Felices,” “La Canción de mi Vida,” and “Ella,” shifting into a more defined indie pop sound tinged with catchy urban rhythms. In 2020, he released “Daño,” a standout single whose metaphor-rich music video—featuring a balloon and a cactus—was directed by frequent collaborator Juan Pablo Puente Luna. His 2020 “Cortamos y Volvemos,” “Awa,” and “Unu” continued to showcase his emotionally honest lyricism and evolving production, with his debut album Nubia arriving in 2023. Two years later, Esperón returned with the track "Luma."
