Singer and rapper Adjanohoun Fanick Olivier was born on July 12, 1992 in Cotonou, Benin. He is known as Fanicko or Fanicko de Jesus. In the early 2010s, he formed the group Jerusalem Clan, with whom he made a name for himself, around songs that were provocative, but which spoke to young people. Fanicko was spotted by his "mentor" Mr Blazz, a well-known artist on the rap scene whose label, Self-Made Man, helps young artists develop and structure their careers. Fanicko quickly took off with the singles "Tu fais trop la bouche" and "on va faire comment", which enabled him to tour Benin and neighboring countries. He created his own structure, AM legendary, and released the single "Mon bébé" in 2016. Fanicko went on to release a string of singles, and was signed by Beninese label Blue Diamond, continuing his rise with singles and the 2019 album Le Feu, Vol. 1, featuring the track "Avec toi ", which has racked up 4 million views on YouTube. He has been nominated at numerous ceremonies including the Primud, Afrimma, Titanimums Music Awards... His lyrics are modern and speak to all generations, like "Qui t'as dit ça", released in 2020. He is included in What's up TV's top 100 African musicians of 2021. In the same year, his single "Le beau des beaux " ranked 6th in the top 100 in Côte d'Ivoire, and "Doudou" came 2nd in Cameroon. In December, his collaboration with Zenab on the track "On ne force pas l'amour" won a prize in the Benin Top 10.
