Faramarz Aslani was an Iranian musician and journalist born in Tehran. After graduating from London University's College of Journalism, he worked for various publications before returning to Iran, where he was discovered by CBS Records International at a party. His debut album, "Occupation of the Heart" ("Ageh Ye Rooz"), released in 1977, became a best-seller, followed by his second album, "Hafez, A Memorandum". Aslani had to leave Iran following the 1979 revolution and settled in England with his family. He continued working as a journalist and musician. In 1992, Aslani began his first US tour, which was well-received. He released his third album, "The Third Line", in 2010, followed by two more albums, "Rouza ye Taraneh o Andouh" and "Khatt-e Sevvom". Throughout his career, Aslani collaborated with several Iranian artists on various projects. He also judged the Persian Talent Show and sang a duet with Dariush Eghbali on their Legends Concert tour. Sadly, Aslani passed away from cancer at the age of 78 in Maryland, US, on March 20, 2024.
