Born in Caserta, Italy on September 4, 1970, Ferruccio Spinetti is a bassist and composer best-known for his skillful work on the double bass. From 1989 to 1991, he attended classes at the Siena Jazz school. Towards the end of his courses, he became a member of the Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel (also known as Avion Travel) in 1990. With Avion Travel, he recorded eight albums for the Sugar Records label and toured throughout Italy. The group participated twice in the Sanremo Music Festival, winning it in 2000. During this time, he also began teaching double bass at the Siena Jazz school. In 2003, he co-founded Musica Nuda, a duo with singer Petra Megoni. Musica Nuda were critically successful, releasing a series of albums including Musica Nuda (2004), Musica Nuda 2 (2006), 55/21 (2008), Banda Larga (2011), Little Wonder (2015), and Verso Sud (2018). He also collaborated with Italian jazz pianist Giovanni Ceccarelli on a series of projects including Météores (2011) and More Morricone (2020).
