Fey

María Fernanda Blázquez Gil, better known by her stage name Fey, is a Mexican pop singer and songwriter born on July 21, 1973, in Mexico City. Fey released her self-titled debut album in 1995 under Sony Music. The album featured several hits in Mexico, including "Media Naranja," "Gatos en el Balcón," "Me Enamoro de Ti," and "La Noche Se Mueve." These singles propelled her to stardom, leading to a successful tour and gold status sales by the end of the year. In 1996, Fey released her second album, Tierna la Noche, which included the massive hit "Azúcar Amargo," which reached number 1 in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru The album and its tour solidified her popularity, earning her a nomination for Pop New Artist at the 9th Lo Nuestro Awards. Her third album, El Color de los Sueños, came out in 1998, featuring hits like "Ni Tú Ni Nadie," "Díselo con Flores," "Canela," and "Cielo Líquido." While successful, it didn't match the overwhelming popularity of Tierna la Noche. In 2002, Fey released Vertigo, a dual-language album with both Spanish and English versions. The single "Sé Lo Que Vendrá/The Other Side" was particularly successful in Mexico. After a brief hiatus, she returned in 2005 with La Fuerza del Destino, a tribute album to the Spanish group Mecano. This album included hits like "La Fuerza del Destino" and "Me Cuesta Tanto Olvidarte," and earned Fey her first Latin Grammy nomination. Her sixth album, Faltan Lunas, was released in 2006, featuring a pop/dance sound with acoustic elements. In 2009, Fey released Dulce Tentación, which returned her to the top of the charts in Mexico. The album's lead single "Lentamente" was a hit, and the album received gold certification for over 50,000 copies sold within a month. Fey's 2012 album Primera Fila featured live renditions of her hits and new songs. She began her "Todo Lo Que Soy" tour in February 2013, receiving positive reviews. In 2016, Fey released the single "No Me Acostumbro" with Cuban singer/actor Lenny de la Rosa. She promoted her "Fey: 9.0 American Tour" and released the digital single "Amo" later that year. In 2017, Fey joined the '90s Pop Tour with artists like Aleks Syntek, OV7, and Erik Rubin. The tour had numerous dates across Mexico and the US. In 2018, she released two singles, "Comiéndote a Besos" and "No Te Necesito," and announced her "Desnuda Tour." 2020 marked her 25th career anniversary in the music industry, which she celebrated with the English-language electronic single "The Perfect Song" featuring Paul Oakenfold. In 2023, Fey released the single "Veneno" and announced a new tour across the US and Mexico for the fall. In January 2024, she released the song "Disparándole A La Nada," followed by the Esteman collaboration "Bailando Por Ti" later that year.
