Fiddler's Green is a folk-rock band from Germany founded in 1990. The band was formed when members of the group X-Rated and the duo Willi and Albi joined forces. The newly founded formation consisting of Ralf Albers, Peter Pathos and Rainer Schulz initially called themselves Irish Duo. A short time later, more members join and the name changes to Fiddler's Green. The newcomers entered a competition for young musicians in Erlangen and came second. The self-titled debut album is released in 1992. The band describes their style as speed folk. Fiddler's Green mixes elements from the genres of ska, punk, metal and reggae. Their fan base grows thanks to numerous concerts and regular releases. The album On and On reached number 61 in the German charts for the first time in 1997. From then on, the folk rockers appeared there regularly. After the already quite successful Wall of Folk (2011) and number 24 in Germany, Fiddler's Green achieved their first top 10 placement in 2013 with the follow-up Winners & Boozers at number 7. In 2015, the compilation 25 Blarney Roses was released to mark the band's 25th anniversary on stage. Since 2009, the band has been organizing its own festival series, the Shamrock Festival. Fiddler's Green celebrated the band's 30th birthday in 2020 with the album 3 Cheers for 30 Years. After the Christmas album Seven Holy Nights (2022), Fiddler's Green open the year 2024 with The Green Machine. The album climbed to number 5 in Germany.
