FIFTY FIFTY

Fifty Fifty is a South Korean girl group formed in 2022, comprising four members: Saena, Aran, Keena, and Sio, who each bring their unique vocal, rap, and dance talents to the group. After a series of teasers and pre-releases, they debuted on November 18, 2022, with their extended play, The Fifty. The EP includes four tracks, including their debut single, "Higher," which quickly gained popularity among fans and critics alike. The group's debut was met with critical acclaim, with IZM magazine rating the album 4.5 out of 5 stars; the highest rating the magazine has ever given to a girl group. In addition, they were named one of the best K-pop debuts of the year by Rolling Stone India, and their songs "Tell Me" and "Lovin Me" were featured on the lists of the best K-pop songs of 2022 in several online publications. Following the success of their debut, Fifty Fifty released their first single album, The Beginning: Cupid, on February 24, 2023. The album features the title track "Cupid," which became an overnight commercial success, entering the Billboard Hot 100 on March 27, an unprecedented accomplishment for a K-Pop group. Gaining a loyal fanbase, the group has been recognised as one of The Recording Academy's K-pop Girl Groups to Watch in 2023. However, the group soon became embroiled in legal disputes and controversies involving their former agency, Attrakt. Three members filed a breach of trust claim against the agency, alleging embezzlement. This led to an investigation by the police, but it was later dismissed due to lack of evidence. Despite these issues, Fifty Fifty continued preparations for their comeback. In June 2024, Attrakt announced that the group would re-debut as a five-member team, with Keena remaining from the original lineup and four new members joining. These new members include Chanelle, Yewon, Hana, and Athena, all of whom bring unique talents and experiences to the group. Prior to their re-debut, Fifty Fifty signed a partnership with Arista Records in August 2024. Their second EP, Love Tune, is released on September 20, preceded by a pre-release single titled "Starry Night." The group has also announced a new fandom name, "Tweny," to mark their fresh start.
