Finesse2tymes is the stage name of American hip-hop artist Ricky Hampton, who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 10, 1992. He began rapping as a teenager, taking influence from his hometown's rap community. While living on the city's East Side proved to be musically inspirational, it also introduced Finesse2tymes to criminal activity, and he served his first jail sentence as a 14 year-old. Seven years later, he co-founded the local rap collective Memphis Greatest Underrated with hip-hop musicians like Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta. However, his ever-expanding criminal record often got in the way of his musical aspirations, and Finesse2tymes wound up behind bars once again, this time for aggravated robbery. He released in August 2016, then incarcerated for a third time starting in 2017. While serving time for weapons charges, Finesse2tymes continued to pursue his career as a rapper, and Memphis Greatest Underrated released a self-titled EP during his imprisonment in 2019. That same year, Finesse2tymes also appeared a pair of mixtapes, Hustle & Flow and Goin' Straight In. Both releases showcased his street-smart lyrics and booming voice, and by the time Finesse2tymes left jail in 2022, his audience had grown significantly. 2022's "Black Visa" marked his first single since being released from federal custody, followed by "Gucci Flow" — a collaboration with Gucci Mane — one month later. In December 2022, he closed out the year with 90 Days, a mixtape featuring appearances by Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, and his longtime collaborator Moneybagg Yo. The record was a success, reaching Number 57 on the Billboard 200 during its first month of availability.
