The Australian singer-songwriter Fiona Boyes who hails from Melbourne, Australia is notoriously difficult to categorise when it comes to defining her music. She is undoubtedly a fine blues guitarist but her distinctive style draws inspiration from a wide range of influences. Listening to her music it's possible to hear blues of all types from Mississippi Delta, swamp and Chicago all mixed in with country, jazz, soul and traditional R&B. Boyes made her name on the blues circuit touring with her all-girl ensemble The Mojos with whom she recorded five albums in the 1990s. After quitting the band Boyes went solo in 2000 and her first solo album 'Blues in My Heart' won critical acclaim among hardcore blues fans and she has subsequently received 15 national recording and performance awards in her native Australia. Her recording career spans 25 years and she regularly tours Australia, the USA and Europe.
