Fit for an Autopsy is an American deathcore band from Jersey City, New Jersey, formed in 2008. The current line-up consists of Joe Badolato (vocals), Will Putney (guitar), Pat Sheridan (guitar), Tim Howley (guitar), Peter "Blue" Spinazola (bass) and Josean Orta (drums). The band quickly established itself in the deathcore scene, combining brutal riffs with technical skill and socially critical lyrics. Their musical style can be described as a mixture of deathcore and death metal. Fit for an Autopsy released their debut album The Process of Human Extermination in 2011. With their third album Absolute Hope Absolute Hell (2015), they reached the top 20 of the US hard rock charts for the first time. Their fourth album The Great Collapse (2017) marks their entry into the official US album charts. The Sea of Tragic Beasts, released in 2019, cemented their reputation as one of the most innovative bands in the genre. Their sixth studio album Oh What the Future Holds will be released on January 14, 2022 via Nuclear Blast and includes the critically acclaimed track "Far from Heaven". Fit for an Autopsy is known for their energetic live performances and regularly tours with other well-known bands in the scene. In 2022, they will take part in the Omens Tour with Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage. The band released a split EP entitled The Aggression Sessions on April 7, 2023, which also featured Thy Art Is Murder and Malevolence. This EP is a kind of sequel to their successful split EP The Depression Sessions from 2016. The album The Nothing That Is was released in early November 2024 and reached number 76 in Germany.
