Fleshgod Apocalypse

Italian symphonic death metal band Fleshgod Apocalypse are a technical, heavy force to be reckoned with: lightning-fast axe swings, extreme blast beats, operatic vocals, demonic growls, and symphonic piano passages that add a touch of orchestral refinement. The band formed in Perugia, Italy in 2007, and released their debut album, Oracles, in 2008. To date, Fleshgod Apocalypse have contributed six full-length albums to the metal canon, including Agony (2011), an orchestral album, Labyrinth (2013), a concept album about the myth of the Labyrinth of Knossos, King (2016), followed by Veleno (2019). Since 2020, the band has consisted of the founder, singer and rhythm guitarist Francesco Paoli, pianist and orchestrator Francesco Ferrini, guitarist Fabio Bartoletti, drummer Eugene Ryabchenko and opera singer Veronica Bordacchini. It is under this configuration that the sixth album, Opera (2024), was recorded.
