Francis Bebey is a singer, musician, journalist, writer, musicologist and radio personality. Committed to spreading African culture, the Cameroonian artist fulfills the mission he has set himself in his own way. From 1974 onwards, Francis Bebey devoted himself exclusively to music, exploring African humor in music with the famous Rire Africain. Francis Bebey was also a precursor of world fusion, exploring the possibilities of electro applied to the music of his continent. The exciting African Electronic Music 1975 - 1982, released in 2012, brings together the results of these innovations. Despite his achievements and undeniable contribution to the evolution of African music, Francis Bebey died in relative anonymity on May 28, 2001.
