Although born in San Francisco, Francisca Valenzuela shot to fame in Chile where her family moved when she was 12-years-old. Her first claim to fame was as a poet when she published her book 'Defenseless Waters' which included a forward by the Chilean author Isobel Allende. She followed this with a second book a year later. Her music career began during the promotional tour for 'Defenseless Waters' when she played guitar and sang during her poetry readings. After performing her own compositions in bars and clubs in Santiago, she released the single 'Peces' which received a great deal of airplay both in her native country and in Central and South America. This in turn led to the release of her debut album 'Muérdete la Lengua'. Continuing her independent streak in 2014 she formed her own independent record label Frantastic Records and followed this up by touring her third album 'Tajo Abierto' in Spain, Mexico and Chile. Aside from her life in the music industry, Valenzuela also launched two fashion labels, 'Work it!' and 'Look Sharp!' in Chile. She was also chosen as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. Her latest single follows her appearance at Chile's 2019 Lollapalooza and is entitled 'Héroe'.
