Considered the greatest oboist of his generation, François Leleux went straight from the Paris Conservatoire to the Orchestre de l'Opéra Bastille, where at the age of eighteen he was appointed by Myung-Whun Chung. On the strength of this experience, the native of Croix (1971) moved on to virtuoso positions with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Orchestra (from Lorin Maazel to Mariss Jansons) and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Music teacher, renowned oboist and even conductor, François Leleux is also a prolific recording artist, moving from a Bach Violin Concerto (2007) to a Mozart recital (2009), and from contemporary pieces (Nicolas Bacri) to neglected works (Louise Farrenc). In 2012, Le Charme du Hautbois brought together early scores.
