Galen Michael Crew (July 11, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter whose electro-folk songs found an unlikely audience in mainland China in the mid-2010s. He made his music debut with the bands Seraph and Vinyl Relay, after which he embarked on a solo career beginning in 2012 with the album Better Than a Fairy Tale and Acoustic Daydreams. Following the release of the EPs Like Fire and Christmas Spirit in 2013, Galen Crew toured the US and the UK promoting his material. 2016 saw the release of the EP Sleepyhead as Crew toured China for the first time, visiting Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, and Hong Kong. In 2017, he dropped the single "Fragrance," which featured the traditional Chinese instrument erhu and whose accompanying video was shot in Shanghai. Throughout 2018 and 2019, Galen Crew issued a series of EPs titled Apologue, followed by the EP Tunnels in 2021.
