GARNET CROW

Garnet Crow was a Japanese pop-rock band formed in 1999, consisting of vocalist Yuri Nakamura, guitarist Hitoshi Okamoto, keyboardist Nana Azuki, and keyboardist Hirohito Furui. The band debuted under the Tent House label but was quickly associated with Giza Studio from 2000 until their disbandment in 2013. The group came together in 1999 when the members collaborated on a demo tape for singer Mai Kuraki, leading to the formation of Garnet Crow. They made their independent debut on December 4, 1999, with the mini-album First Kaleidscope. Their mainstream break came in 2000 with the simultaneous release of the singles "Mysterious Eyes" and "Kimi no Uchi ni Tsuku Made Zutto Hashitte Yuku," kickstarting their popularity in the Japanese rock scene. In 2001, Garnet Crow released their first studio album, First Soundscope: Mizu no Nai Hareta Umi e, containing popular songs such as "f l y i n g." The following year, they scored a hit with the single "Yume Mita Ato de," which was featured in the anime Detective Conan and peaked at number 6 on the Oricon charts. 2003 saw the release of Crystallize: Kimi to Iu Hikari. Over the next several years, the band maintained a steady output, with notable albums like The Twilight Valley (2006) and Locks (2008), both of which charted on the Oricon Top 10. In 2011, Garnet Crow recorded the title song "Misty Mystery" for Detective Conan. Their final studio album, Terminus, was released in 2013, shortly before their disbandment. On June 9, 2013, Garnet Crow held their final concert, marking the end of their 14-year career.
