Gate Flowers is a South Korean hard rock band formed in Seoul in 2005. Initially active until 2006, the band disbanded but reunited in 2008, and continued until 2015 before disbanding again. They reformed in 2023 with new members. The band’s lineup currently includes Park Geunhong (vocals), Yeom Seungshik (guitar), Lee Insan (bass), and Jeon Sangjin (drums). Former members include Yoo Jaein (bass) and Yang Jeongeun (drums). Gate Flowers gained attention with their rough and energetic rock sound, which drew influences from grunge and progressive metal. Their 2010 self-titled EP earned them the Rookie of the Year award at the 2011 Korean Music Awards. The band’s most notable releases include their first full-length album, Times (2012), and their 2014 EP Neulcuen Baemn. Their track "Army Reserve" was particularly well-received. Despite their on-and-off activity, Gate Flowers has left a significant mark on the Korean music industry, particularly through their participation in the TV show Top Band and their later international performances.
