Leader of the band Black Midi, singer and guitarist Geordie Greep launched his solo career in 2024 with the album The New Sound. Born in Walthamstow, east London, on August 20, 1999, he built his musical culture on his parents' eclectic record collection, and began learning guitar at the age of eight. As a teenager, he formed the band Black Midi, which enjoyed critical success with three albums released between 2019 and 2022. Taking advantage of a break after touring with the group, he began performing as a solo artist and immediately set about recording, between London and São Paulo, his experimental debut album The New Sound (2024), whose instrumental richness draws on the sources of progressive rock and jazz rock, with Latin influences. Preceded by the singles "Holy, Holy" and "Blues", it reached number 10 in the UK independent label charts.
