Georg Danzer was an Austrian singer-songwriter whose career spanned 40 years. When he left school he studied philosophy and psychology in Vienna but was soon prompted to begin writing and playing music and released his first single, 'Vera', in 1967. It failed to gain much attention so spent the next few years writing for other artists instead. He eventually received commercial success with the comedic song 'Jö Schau' when it went to number one in the Austrian charts. His other hits include 'So a Dodl Mid da Rodl', 'Zombieball' and 'Doppelgänger'. The extensive list of albums to his name include 'Ollas Leiwaund' (1975), 'Ruhe vor dem Sturm' (1981) and 'Von Scheibbs nach Nebraska' (2005)'. Danzer lost his battle with cancer on 21st June 2007, aged 60.
