A composer of songs and music for TV and film(La Vérité si je mens), Gérard Presgurvic is best known for the musical Roméo et Juliette, a huge success in 2001 that was revived in 2010. He also penned the hit "Détective " (1980) and others for Chagrin d'Amour, Patrick Bruel, Florent Pagny and Liane Foly.
