Gian Marco Zignago Alcóver, known mononymously as Gian Marco, is a Peruvian Latin pop singer born on August 17, 1970, in the city of Lima. The son of actress and singer María Regina Alcóver Ureta and composer Javier Óscar Florencio Zignago Viñas, he grew up surrounded by music and began performing at a very young age, making his first live television performance on the Argentine TV show Domingos Gigantes when he was just 12 years old. After moving to Santiago de Chile to pursue a career as a graphic designer, Gian Marco decided to follow his dreams of becoming a renowned musician and began playing in venues in Santiago and Viña del Mar. Historias, his studio debut, appeared in 1990 and was followed by other successful releases such as Personal (1992) Entre la Arena y la Luna (1994), and Señora, Cuénteme (1996). During this time, Gian Marco also became the host of the game show Campaneando; something that would help him attain widespread popularity among Peruvian audiences. In the 2000s, Gian Marco relocated to the United States and made a name for himself working as a composer with Emilio Estefan before breaking into the international market with his sixth studio full-length, A Tiempo (2002). In the following years, he would go on to win the Latin Grammy for Best Singer-Songwriter Album three times for the LPs Resurrección (2004), Días Nuevos (2011), and 20 Años (2012). In 2020, Gian Marco released the live EP Sesiones Acústicas, which included acoustic versions of some his biggest hits, including "Parte de Este Juego," "Lejos de Ti," and "Fragilidad."
