An old hand in French punk, a survivor of every wave of the alternative rock movement, Gogol I, the man who made a name for himself by calling Jacques Martin "an ass" and his audience "vermeil cards", the man in the cassock who cooed "J'enc... satanic sects, schizophrenics and fanatics" to the delicate ears of his sentimental audience, and rubbed shoulders with Professor Choron and the Hara-Kiri gang, is still going strong and remains a sort of living - and still active - memory of the punk movement.
