Grosso Autunno

Il Grosso Autunno was an Italian progressive rock band formed in Rome in 1975 and active until 1978. Blending progressive and West Coast influences with acoustic instruments, the group began performing in local venues. Signing with EMI Italiana, they released their self-titled debut album in 1976, followed by Almanacco in 1977. Despite their unique sound, neither album achieved significant commercial success, leading to the band's dissolution in 1978. After the breakup, Stefano Iannucci pursued a solo career as a singer-songwriter, collaborating with Giorgio Lo Cascio, while Luciano Ceri also released a solo album before becoming a prominent music critic, contributing to magazines like Raro! and Musica leggera. The lineup included Luciano Ceri, Stefano Iannucci, Gabriele Longo, Paolo Somigli, and Alessandro Varzi, all multi-instrumentalists and vocalists. Though short-lived, the band contributed to the 1970s Italian progressive rock scene.
