Andrés Acosta Jaramillo, known as Gusi, is a Colombian-Venezuelan singer-songwriter celebrated for his unique blend of vallenato, cumbia, and Latin pop. Born on April 22, 1984, in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela, Gusi was immersed in music from an early age, inspired by his Colombian roots and the traditional sounds passed down by his family. He gained prominence as part of the duo Gusi & Beto, releasing acclaimed albums like La Mandarina (2007), which earned a Latin Grammy nomination, and Más Allá (2011), featuring hits like "Bendito Corazón" and "Cómo Me Duele." In 2013, Gusi launched a successful solo career with his debut album Al Son de Mi Corazón (2014), earning two Latin Grammy nominations and showcasing his hit single "Tú Tienes Razón." Over the years, he has collaborated with artists like Silvestre Dangond, Carlos Vives, and Greeicy Rendón, further cementing his versatility. Albums like Lugares Diferentes (2019) and 24/7 (2022), nominated for a Latin Grammy, highlight his evolution as an artist. Gusi’s heartfelt lyrics and fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds have made him a defining voice in Latin music, with a career spanning memorable collaborations and impactful solo projects. 2024 saw the release of the album Monte Adentro, whose lead single "Solo Tuyo" reached number 25 on the Billboard US Tropical Airplay chart.
