Ha Dong-hoon, better known by his stage name Haha, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and entertainer. Born on August 20, 1979, in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany, Haha grew up in a family with a strong academic background. His mother holds a doctorate in psychology, and his sister, Ha Ju-ri, is a pianist with a doctorate. Haha began his career in 2001 with the hip-hop group Z-kiri. Although the group disbanded quickly, Haha found success in television, co-hosting What's Up YO! and acting in the sitcom Nonstop. In 2005, he released his studio debut The Beautiful Rhyme Diary. His participation in the popular variety show Infinite Challenge in 2005 boosted his popularity. His 2007 single "You're My Destiny" reached Number 1 on the Circle Albums Chart. In 2008, Haha enlisted for mandatory military service, returning in 2010. He rejoined Infinite Challenge and became a co-host of Running Man, a role that earned him the "Best Entertainer" award at the 2011 SBS Entertainment Awards. Haha continued his music career, releasing his first EP Quan Ninomarley A.K.A HaHa Reggae Wave in 2011 and joining forces with reggae artist Skull on projects such as the mini-album Skull & Haha Ya Man in 2012. That year, he also dropped the collaborative album Acoustic Tuning Time with Taw, which peaked at number 35 on the South Korean charts. He formed the duo Running Man Brothers with Kim Jong-kook in 2014 and toured the United States. In 2021, Haha released his second EP Gap. "Ice Bottle," a single featuring U-Kwon, came out in 2023.
