American actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld began her career as a child actor, at the age of 14 landing the role of Mattie Ross in the 2010 remake of 'True Grit'. Her performance was nominated for an Academy Award and more film roles followed including appearances in 'Ender's Game', 'Romeo & Juliet', 'Begin Again' and 'Three Days to Kill'. In 2015 she was cast in the role of Emily Junk in 'Pitch Perfect 2' and subsequently performed a cover version of 'Flashlight', one of the songs from the soundtrack which was originally performed by the British singer Jessie J. Steinfeld's performance in the film launched her singing career and she signed to Republic Records releasing her debut single 'Love Myself' in 2015. The song sold well around the globe, particularly in the US, Canada and the UK, with collective sales of more than 2.3 million copies. Steinfeld's career as a singer has continued to be successful, helped by another appearance in the 'Pitch Perfect' franchise when she reprised the role of Emily Junk in 'Pitch Perfect 3'.
