German comedian, singer, actor, author and voice actor Hape Kerleing was born Hans-Peter Wilhelm Kerkeling in Recklinghausen on December 9, 1964. He grew up in Recklinghausen as the second son of a florist and a carpenter and spent much of his childhood in his maternal grandmother's corner store. At the age of eight, his mother, who suffered from severe depression, took her own life and from then on he grew up with his grandparents, father and brother. While still at grammar school, he released the record Hawaii together with Achim Hagemann and others as the band Gesundfutter. At the age of 17, he appeared on TV for the first time in the show Talentschuppen . He was awarded the Passau cabaret prize Scharfrichterbeil even before he graduated from high school in 1983. Hape's breakthrough came in 1985 with the music and entertainment show Känguru on ARD. his album Hannilein & Co. was released in 1986 and reached 59th place in the German charts. Between 1989 and 1991, he plays and sings in the comedy series Total Normal with pianist Achim Hagemann. He receives the Golden Camera and other media awards for this. This was followed by numerous other appearances as a comedian in various TV shows and the creation of numerous artificial characters as which Hape appears. In the course of his career, he appeared in various films, worked as a dubbing artist and wrote books such as "Ich bin dann mal weg" and "Der Junge muss an die frische Luft", which were later made into films. in 2007, he reached 15th place in the German charts with his album Wieder auf Tour - Live. In 2014, the album Ich lasse mir das Singen nicht verbieten reached 7th place in Germany, 71st place in Austria and 77th place in Switzerland. In October 2021, his album Mal unter uns... with the singles "Der Weg nach Haus" and "Amsterdam" The album reaches the top 20 in Germany and 38th place in the Swiss charts.
