Harmonium

A short-lived but legendary group formed in Quebec in the 1970s by Serge Fiori (guitars, mandolin, zither, flute, vocals), Michel Normandeau (guitar, dulcimer, accordion, vocals) and Louis Valois (bass, piano, vocals). Harmonium is the main witness to the pop revival of Quebec chanson, with a style marked by vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars à la Crosby, Stills & Nash and, lyrically, by a critique of industrial society and a dream of returning to the land. The group went on to release three landmark studio albums in the genre, including L'Heptade (1976), considered to be the best Quebec rock album of all time. They crossed the Atlantic with the famous song "Dixie ", with its catchy chorus, before breaking up in 1980.
