Ivan Hilje, born in Zagreb on September 15, 1992, the Croatian rapper is better known by his stage name Hiljson Mandela. The son of an opera singer, he developed an early interest in music and learned to play the saxophone, which he used in the alternative rock band Prazna Lepinja, of which he was a member from 2008 to 2013. Meanwhile, with two childhood friends, he formed the rap trio KuKu$, a pioneer of the genre in Croatia. In 2022, after several collaborations and solo tracks, Hiljson Mandela unveils his first solo album The Mandela Effect, featuring the hit "Cura s kvarta". In 2024, several other singles followed, including "Ankaran", his first number one in the Croatian charts, then "7 Ujutro" (No. 20) and "Anđeo", a track written for the TV series Sram, which in turn reached No. 1.
