Himesh Reshammiya (July 23, 1973) is an Indian playback singer and actor, mostly known for his work in the Bollywood film industry. He made his official debut as a music composer in 1998 on the Salman Khan film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, contributing two original songs to the film’s soundtrack: “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” and “Tum Par Hum Hai Aatke.” In the following years, he continued to write music for feature films such as Bandhan (1998) and Hello Brother (1999) before jumping into the spotlight for his work on the Hindi film Humraaz (2002). His big breakthrough arrived in 2003 through another collaboration with Salman Khan, this time on the film Tere Naam, whose soundtrack earned Himesh Reshammiya a Zee Cine Award and a Screen Award, both in the category of Best Music Director. He debuted as a playback singer on the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005) and made his acting debut on the romantic thriller Aap Kaa Surroor (2007), writing the film’s original score as well. Aap Kaa Surroor’s soundtrack became one of the highest-selling albums in India, selling over 55 million copies. Himesh Reshammiya spent the next decade participating in reality shows and delivered the solo album Aap Se Mausiiquii in 2016, followed by the singles “Surroor 2021,” “Moods with Melodies,” and “Himesh Ke Dil Se,” all released during 2021 via his own music label Himesh Reshammiya Melodies.
