Hubert Kah (born March 21, 1961 in Reutlingen) is a musician, composer, songwriter and producer from Germany. Born Hubert Kemmler, the artist celebrated his greatest successes at the beginning of the 1980s as one of the stars of Neue Deutsche Welle - or NDW for short. In 1982, Hubert Kah appeared on the scene with the single "Rosemarie". The song reached number 3 in Germany and platinum status. The accompanying album Meine Höhepunkte reached number 7 in the German charts in the same year. Hubert Kahr continues to ride the wave of success and releases the single " Sternenhimmel" in the fall of 1982. The song even climbs to number 2 in Germany and is part of the second studio album Ich komme, which is released in December 1982. In March 1983, the non-album track "Einmal nur mit Erika (... dieser Welt entflieh'n)" is released. This takes Hubert Kah to number 22 in the German charts. The NDW wave was coming to an end at this time. Hubert Kah therefore also attempts a musical change of direction. The album Goldene Zeiten (1984) with the singles "Engel 07" and "Wenn der Mond die Sonne berührt" has clearly audible pop elements. Two years later, Hubert Kah released Tensongs, his first English-language album. Both this and the previous album bear the signature of producer Michael Cretu. With the single "Limousine", Hubert Kah achieves another top 10 hit in Germany at number 8. Another English-language album, Sound of My Heart, followed in 1989. However, the album could not match his earlier successes. Hubert Kah also falls ill with depression and retires from the music business. However, the artist continues to release new albums at loose intervals, such as Hubert Kah (1996), Seelentaucher (2005), Willkommen im Leben (2014) and RockArt (2016). Hubert Kah is also a successful producer. In his long career, he has been involved in many songs by other artists, including the international number 1 hit by Sandra "Maria Magdalena" (1985). In addition to his collaboration with Sandra, Hubert Kah also writes hits for Peter Schilling and Münchener Freiheit.
