Park Sun-young (born May 30, 1989, in Busan, South Korea), known professionally as Hyomin, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, actress, and fashion designer. Starting her career as a child model, Hyomin later became a trainee under JYP Entertainment. She debuted in 2009 as a member of T-ara, which made its debut stage on July 30 with the single "Lie." After spending a few years developing her acting career, Hyomin, along with T-ara members Hahm Eun-jung and Park Ji-yeon, and former member Areum, formed a subgroup called T-ara N4 in 2013, releasing their first mini-album titled Jeon Won Diary shortly after. On June 30, 2014, Hyomin released her first solo extended play, Make Up, with the lead single "Nice Body" (featuring Loco). Despite its controversial themes surrounding body image, the song was a hit in and outside Korea, reaching number 13 on the Korean Gaon charts, while the EP peaked at number 6. Her second extended play, Sketch, with double title tracks "Sketch" and "Gold," was released on March 17, 2016, and reached number 3. On February 20, 2019, Hyomin released her third extended play, Allure, featuring singles "Mango" and "U Um U Um" landing at number 11 on the Gaon chart, and topping the Taiwanese album chart. Title track "Allure" also became her fifth number 1 hit on the Chinese platform YinYueTai's Weekly Korean chart, the most for any Korean female artist. In 2024, "Nice Body" had a resurgence, landing on the Top 200 Shazam charts.
