Ice Spice

Ice Spice is the stage name of American drill artist Isis Gaston (January 1, 2000), who first gained recognition in 2022 with her single "Munch (Feelin' U)." Born and raised in the Bronx, she is the daughter of a former MC who introduced her to rappers like Sheff G and Pop Smoke, as well as groundbreaking female MCs such as Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj. After meeting producer Cook Babes while studying at SUNY Purchase, Ice Spice dropped out of college and made her official debut in 2021 with the singles "Bully" and "No Clarity." In 2022, she posted a track titled "Name of Love" to her Soundcloud account, gaining considerable traction on the platform and achieving social media fame. That same year, her single "Munch (Feelin' U)" went viral after being highlighted by Drake on his radio station Sound 42. The song became her first charting effort by peaking at number 5 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and number 34 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Later that year, she featured on the B-Lovee single "One Time." This success was followed by other viral singles such as "Bikini Bottom" and "In Ha Mood," the latter of which reached number 1 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. Like..?, her first EP, featured her most popular singles and debuted at number 37 on the Billboard 200 in 2023. That year, she appeared in the Top 5 hit single "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" by PinkPantheress and collaborated with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. Preceded by the singles "Think U the Shit (Fart)," "Gimmie a Light," "Phat Butt," "Did It First" with Central Cee, and "Oh Shhh..." with Travis Scott, Ice Spice's highly anticipated studio debut Y2K! hit the shelves in 2024, peaking at number 18 on the Billboard 200.
