Illit

Illit is a South Korean girl group formed by Belift Lab, a branch of Hybe, through the JTBC 2023 survival competition show R U Next? The group, initially a six-member lineup, debuted with five members: Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha. Illit, which stands for "choosing your own verb to put between I'll and It", represents the members' ability to make their own decisions, a concept introduced during the show's live finale. R U Next? aired from June 30 to September 1, 2023, showcasing 22 contestants vying to debut. The final episode revealed the selection of two members by the public and four by the company's producers. In January 2024, it was announced that Youngseo was leaving the group due to a mutual decision with Belift Lab. Illit's debut was set for March 25, 2024, with their first extended play Super Real Me, produced by Hybe's chairman Bang Si-hyuk. They made headlines by appearing at the Acne Studios show during Paris Fashion Week before their official debut, a first for a K-pop artist. Their debut EP included the lead single "Magnetic," alongside three other tracks, "My World," "Midnight Fiction," and "Lucky Girl Syndrome." "Magnetic" made a remarkable entry into the global streaming charts on its release day, setting Illit apart as the first K-pop girl group to achieve this feat. Just eight days post-debut, "Magnetic" had already entered four Billboard charts. The EP Super Real Me reached number 3 in Japan and cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard World chart in the United States. On October 21, 2024, the group came back with a brand new EP titled I'll Like You.
