Illiterate Light

Illiterate Light are an alternative rock duo from Virginia, USA comprised of musicians Jeff Gorman and Jake Cochran. The origins of the band can be traced back to 2010 when the two met whilst working on an organic farm, an enterprise which they eventually took over and ran as a business. They began promoting their music by touring on bicycles and playing local venues and this unorthodox approach to the music business helped them build a solid local fan base for their eclectic brand of music. In 2015 the duo decided to quit the farm to concentrate solely on their musical career, at which point they adopted the name Illiterate Light and began promoting themselves to a wider audience with Gorman playing guitar and a foot pedal synth bass and Cochran playing a minimalist, pared-down drum kit. In 2019 they signed a deal with Atlantic Records and began recording with the Grammy Award-winning producer Vance Powell and engineer Adrian Olsen. Their self-titled debut album was released later in 2019.
