American soul and R&B singer India Shawn was born on March 25, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. She took her first steps in the music industry as a member of the songwriting team Full Circle, penning hits for the likes of Chris Brown, El DeBarge, and Keri Hilson. Origin, her studio, appeared in 2012 and was followed by her sophomore album Outer Limits in 2015. Over the next few years, she regularly performed with Kanye West's Sunday Service Choir and toured the US with like-minded artists such as Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals. Even though her solo output waned during this time, India Shawn returned in 2021 with her third studio effort Before We Go, which found the singer honing in on her songwriting skills and collaborating with Anderson .Paak, 6LACK, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. An extended version of the album titled Before We Go (Deeper) saw the light in 2022 and featured previously unreleased tracks like the Top 30 R&B entry "Exchange."
