Indu Sonali

Indu Sonali is an Indian film playback singer, known for her performances of Bhojpuri item songs. Born on 27 September 1980 in Bihar, India, Sonali was surrounded by music and began singing at a young age. Blending primitive-acoustic folk with traces of Indian classical music, ambient electronic and new age jazz fusion, her notable songs include "Lehriya Loot Re Raja" (from Partigya), "Kahan Jaibe Raja Najariya" (from Kaha Jaiba Raja), "Uthha Deb Lenga" (from Damadji) and "Devar ho Daba Na Mor Karihaiya" (from Rakhwala). Her debut as a playback singer was in the Bhojpuri film Panditji Batai Na Biah Kab Hoi, under musical director Rajesh Gupta. Sonali is a devotee of Indian singing legend Lata Mangeshkar and regularly performs at electronic and new age jazz fusion-oriented music festivals, recording the solo devotional album Swaranjali in 2016, which was released under Sai Recordds. Some of her other popular songs include "Tu Patna Ke Raja Hum Mumbai Ki Rani" (from Tu Hamar Hau), "Humke Sasura Se Tu Bolbaala Babuji" (from Bidaai), "Milal Ba Rangdar Balamua" (from Rangdar Balamua), "Hamare Pati Dev Ji" (from Vinashak) "Pandeyji Ka Beta Hoon" (from Mai Re Mai Hamra Uhe Laiki Chahi), "Palang Sagwan Ke" (from Doli Saja Ke Rakhna) and "Cooler Kurti Me Lagala" (from Deewanapan), among others. Indu Sonali's music has been widely appreciated and loved by her fans and she continues to be a prominent figure in the Bhojpuri music industry. With over 300 Bhojpuri films and 50 music video albums to her name, Sonali is considered one of the top playback singers in the Bhojpuri film industry.
