Irene

Bae Joo-hyun, popularly known by her stage name Irene, was born on March 29, 1991, in Daegu, South Korea. She is well-known as the leader of the South Korean girl group Red Velvet and its sub-unit Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi. Irene has also gained recognition as a television host on shows such as Music Bank and Laundry Day, and she made her acting debut in the web drama Women at a Game Company and the film Double Patty. She joined SM Entertainment in 2009 and trained for five years before being introduced as part of SM Rookies in 2013, and eventually debuting with Red Velvet in 2014. The group has achieved significant popularity, releasing multiple albums and gaining international acclaim. In addition to her group activities, Irene has ventured into solo projects, including a collaboration with DJ Raiden and starring in her own reality show spin-off. She made her official solo debut with the EP Like a Flower, released on November 26, 2024.
