Jacky Wu is a familiar face in Taiwan; a television show host, singer and actor who holds court on a number of the country's variety shows, including the long-running favorite, Guess. Born Wu Tsung-hsien on September 26, 1962 in West Central District, Tainan, Wu started performing in 1987, cutting his teeth in cameo roles on variety shows, and honing his skills as a sharp-witted host. In 1998, he provided the voice of the dragon Mushu in the Mandarin dub of the Disney animated film Mulan, and by 2000 he had risen through the ranks to become Channel V's Favorite Chinese Person of the Year. In 2001, Wu had six variety talk shows in Taiwan to his name. He maintained his success rate in the years that followed and was honored in 2008's Golden Bell Awards for his participation on Guess. In addition to his glittering television career, Wu has made a name for himself as an accomplished Mandppop and Hokkien pop singer, having accumulated a number of albums and singles since the late 1990s. He scooped the Best Male Singer in Dialect Song award for "True Heart for Unrequited Love" at The 6th Golden Melody Awards in 1994. Wu's discography includes 2000 album Endless Love, 2019 single "一路上小心", released via Sony Music Entertainment and 2020's "天堂有多遠?"
