Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 10, 1996, Jacob Latimore launched his career as an R&B singer at nine years old. His debut single, "Best Friend," was released in 2005, having been inspired by legacy acts like the Temptations and contemporary boy bands like B2K. A follow-up single, "Superstar," arrived in 2006 and climbed to Number 84 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Three years later, Jacob Latimore released the debut EP I Am the Future and appeared in an episode of One Tree Hill, launching an acting career that quickly grew to include roles in films like 2013's Black Nativity and 2014's The Maze Runner. His music career continued to pick up steam, as well, with Latimore signing to RCA Records' roster and teaming up with T-Pain for "Heartbreak Heard Around the World." Released in 2014, "Heartbreak Heard Around the World" became a genuine hit, earning Jacob Latimore a nomination at the Radio Disney Music Awards for "Best Breakup Song." His first full-length album, Connection, was released two years later, peaking at Number 42 on the US Independent Albums chart and Number 36 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Connection2 followed in 2019 but failed to chart, as did 2020's C3.
