Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, who later reduced his name to Jacquees for the stage, was born on April 15, 1994 in Decatur, Georgia, USA. He began his musical career in the shadows, working in various recording studios as a technician. But he never despaired of breaking into music under his own name, and self-released the EPs I Am Jacquees in 2011 and 19, three years later. The latter reached number 15 on the Billboard R&B chart. Although conducted independently, his recording benefits from contributions from Chris Brown, Lloyd and Trinidad James. That same year, 2014, the artist was signed by Cash Money Records, which released his third EP, Lost at Sea, recorded with Birdman, also on this label. From this EP comes the track "B.E.D." , which reaches number 69 on the Billboard charts. Two years later, in 2018, Jacquees unveils 4275 , which takes him to the next level in terms of notoriety, as it is certified gold and reaches number 35 on the best-seller list in the United States. It was followed a year later by King of R&B, which improved on this performance by reaching number 20. Very active, Jacquees releases Exit 68 in 2020 , the ninth in a series of mixtapes he began releasing digitally only back in 2011, including Mood in 2016 and Lost at Sea 2 in 2018, recorded with Birdman. In 2022, Jacquees released a new single, "Say Yea", which debuted on Billboard's Mainstream R&B/hip-hop chart at #38 and heralded the album Sincerely for You. He follows this up with two duets, "Pick It Up" with Jermaine Dupri and "Risk" with Paul Blanco, before the release of his fourth album Baby Making (2024), driven by the hit "Touchdown".
