Producer and artistic director, Jacques Canetti was above all a discoverer. His name is closely associated with the great names of French chanson in the second half of the 20th century, for the good reason that he was at the origin of their careers. And the list is impressive: Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet, Serge Gainsbourg, Jeanne Moreau, Guy Béart, Serge Reggiani, Jacques Higelin... An inquisitive, passionate and discreet man, he has also put his talent as a music lover at the service of anthology texts by poets such as Boris Vian, Jean Cocteau and Jacques Prévert, for performances and readings that he has set to music in anthology discs.
