Formed in Seoul in 2009, Jambinai is a Korean post-rock band that blends traditional Korean folk instruments like haegeum, piri, and geomungo with conventional rock elements such as drums, bass, and electric guitars. The band, consisting of members Kim Bo-mi (haegeum), Lee Il-woo (electric guitar, piri, taepyeongso & vocals), Sim Eun-yong (geomungo), Yu Byeong-koo (bass guitar), and Choi Jae-hyuk (drums), gained significant recognition when their debut album, Différance, won Best Crossover Album at the 2013 Korean Music Awards. They released their second album, Hermitage, in 2016 through Bella Union. They also showcased their distinctive style during a performance with a geomungo orchestra at the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony in Pyeongchang.
