A protégé of the Warp electronic label, Britain's Jamie Lidell goes far beyond electro. This gifted singer-songwriter boasts an exceptional soul voice and has proved himself an excellent showman. Among his albums, Jim (2008) and the eclectic Compass (2010) help to bring his talent to the fore. This eclecticism is exploited to the full on the following album, soberly entitled Jamie Lidell, where the Englishman moves from nu-soul to R&B, from electro to 1980s pop. This influence is still perceptible on Jamie Lidell 's fifth album (2013), recorded at his home in Nashville.
