Janna

Daughter of singer Maarit and rock guitarist Sami Hurmerinta, Janna Hurmerinta was born in Helsinki on December 20, 1981. She studied piano from the age of six, and wrote her first songs as a teenager, alongside conservatory studies and singing lessons. Her career kicked off in 2007 with the album Right Now, an all-English album with jazz and soul influences and a certain impact in Asia, where it was distributed. The following year, The Makings of Me unveiled a more pop-rock universe, with similar radio success. On Janna (2013), the singer changes her style and adopts a more richly arranged and full-bodied sound, between contemporary and urban pop, which reaches No. 1 in Finland and fills the country's various charts with tracks such as "Sä et ole hullu" (No. 11) and other singles. Having become one of Finland's most popular artists, Janna received a gold disc and five nominations at the Emma Gala in 2015. Between multiple collaborations, "Paljon onnee" was released in 2016 , followed by "Anna mä puhallan", the first single from the album Spektri (ranked #6 in 2018 and certified platinum), featuring the duets "Vaikee mut oikee" with Nikke Ankara (#17) and "Mustis" with Pyhimys (#20). In 2024, Ihminen was released, featuring the duet "Muuttolintu" with Keko Salata (no. 44) and the trio "Aivan Sama" with Erika Vikman and Fanni Sjöholm aka F (no. 42).
