Southern gospel artist Jason Crabb earned his first hits as lead singer of The Crabb Family, a Grammy-nominated, Dove-winning Christian band featuring his parents and five siblings. Born in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, on March 3, 1977, he began touring with his family in the mid-1990s and quickly became the group's lead singer, earning the honors of "Favorite Young Artist" at the 2000 Singing News Fan Awards and "Gospel Male Vocalist of the Year" at the 2004 Harmony Honors. He also collaborated with other genres within the Christian world, appearing on Talley Trio's 2000 release Testament, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir's 2005 concert album I'm Amazed…Live, and Wess Morgan's 2006 album Look at Me Now. After The Crabb Family announced its retirement in 2007, Jason Crabb signed with Spring Hill Music Group as a solo artist and released his self-titled debut album in 2009. The record was a success, climbing to Number 2 on Billboard Christian Albums chart and Number 1 on SoundScan's Southern Gospel Albums chart. It also won a Grammy Award for "Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album." Following the release of a holiday record, Because It's Christmas, in 2010, Jason Crabb continued charting within the upper reaches of the Christian genre with 2013's Love Is Stronger, 2015's Whatever The Road, and 2018's Unexpected, the latter of which won him a second Grammy Award in 2019. "Just As I Am," his first single in three years, arrived in 2021, showcasing the singer's longtime blend of gospel lyrics, country instrumentation, and pop hooks.
