Jazzmeia Horn is an emerging jazz talent from Texas who is widely touted by critics as one of the most exciting artists to break into the jazz and R&B scene for many years. She has been compared favourably with the likes of Nancy Wilson and Sarah Vaughan and her outstanding ability was endorsed by the jazz world when she was named as the winner of the prestigious Thelonius Monk Institute International Jazz Competition in 2015. Horn went to New York in 2009 to study at the New York School of Jazz in Greenwich Village and after completing her studies decided to move to the city permanently. The relocation proved to be a shrewd move by the singer and she has been warmly received by the city's influential music critics during her performances at famous venues such as The Apollo, Ginny's Supper Club and The Red Rooster. In 2017 she released her first album 'A Social Call' which was ranked number one by JazzWeek and went on to be nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018. Although she was unsuccessful with her nomination she did get the opportunity to showcase her talent by performing at the award ceremony.
